Yellow Polyps

Yellow Polyps

The Yellow Polyps bring an amazing touch of colour to any home aquarium. They hose a bright yellow colour and swaying polyps that can brighten up any reef. They are colonial animals with many individual polyps latched to coral rubble or live rock. In addition to that they are also excessively fast growing relative to other corals and tolerant to water conditions and parameter changes. Though they are small, they still do pack and sting and will use it when competing for space against other corals.

The greatest aspect of Yellow Polyps is that they are very easy to maintain, they require a moderate light intensity and moderate water flow, but will most likely adapt to other conditions. If you are looking to increase their reproducing ability, it is wise to add iodine and other trace elements to speed up this process.

A great factor to these polyps is that they will reproduce quickly in the home aquarium by budding (splitting off a portion of their base or mouth), which will increase the size of their colony.

Though this coral will attain the majority of its nutritional requirements from the lighting through photosynthesis, it will also benefit from additional food sources in the form of brine shrimp or micro-plankton.
