Royal Gramma

Royal Gramma

The Royal Gramma is most certainly an amazing addition to any aquarium as it brings with it a great personality and a burst of colour. It body consists of beginning from head to midsection in vibrant purple then gradually contrasted into a electric yellow down to the caudal fin.

In order to house this amazing fish correctly and in the conditions to keep it happy, it will require at least a 70 litre system, preferably full of live rock and hiding caves and holes that will suit its natural behaviour in darting in and out of caves.

This fish is a relatively peaceful tank mate that will get on well with most other marine fish. However, if it is housed with a fish of the same species or family it may become territorial and aggressive.

The Royal Gramma is a carnivore, and therefore should be offered a varied diet of meaty foods, including, and quality frozen preparations.

  1. This was the first fish I bought after my tank finished cycling, and he’s doing great! From day one, he staked out his cave in the Live Rock and has been eating heartily. He gets along very well with all the other tank mates – Percula Clowns, a Yellow Tang, and the Regal Tang is his best buddy! Beautiful coloration, great personality, and very hardy. A must for your aquarium!

  2. The Royal Gramma is an awesome fish! It can be found swimming upside down at times, and seems to be shy when alone. This fish is the best one I have.
