Coral Beauty Angelfish

The Coral Beauty Angelfish is also known as the Dusky Angelfish, is extremely common to the Great Barrier Reef. The head and body are a dark royal blue, outlined and highlighted with an pearlescent orange.

The fish requires a 300 litre tank at minimum, with a variety of hiding spots and live rock for grazing upon. This fish is not a common reef inhabitant, as the Queen Angelfish is usually found to nip at clam mantles and stony and soft corals.

Marine keepers suggest that the Coral Beauty Angelfish is one of the easiest angels to care for. Additionally, it is said that they get on well with most other angelfish and are a great community fish whilst also adding some great colour to any marine aquarium.

The Emperor Angelfish should be fed a diet of mysis or frozen shrimp, marine algae, spirulina, and other meaty items.

  1. Absolutely beautiful! No picture does this fish’s color justice. Great personality! It is my most energetic fish in the community. It ate Formula One and Formula Two instantly.

  2. My “Harvey” is the most beautiful fish I’ve ever seen in person or otherwise. I highly recommend the Coral Beauty, but only if you have a large tank of 75 gallons or more. They spend a lot of time grazing algae so must be placed in an established tank. Mine eats like a little piggy! Very relaxing to watch.

  3. I had a coral beauty for two years and sold him to another person after I had to move overseas. Fantastic fish that never gave me a hard time. Always swimming about and very peaceful. Definately recommended!
