Sexy Shrimp
The Sexy Shrimp attained its name due to its peculiar body movements, as it sways its back end side to side and it walks or to impress others. Additionally, this shrimp also holds a unique appearance, as it is decorated in a solid dark red coat which is scattered with white polka dots. This is most certainly an amazing addition to all aquariums but most definitely those nano tanks that cannot hold larger shrimps or fish.
Requirements
In order to house this shrimp correctly and achieve a comfortable environment for it to be able to thrive, it should almost always be kept in small groups of at least 3-4 in order to protect eachother. Additionally, this shrimp is very small and only grows to about 1.5 inches and therefore should not be housed with any predatory fish or large wrasse which may see it as food.
Suggestions
It is important to note that this shrimp will not tolerate any copper medications and it will mostly kill it. Furthermore, another thing people forget is that in order to keep these shrimps healthy they will require the correct levels of iodine within the water in order to promote molting (which should be once per month).
Feeding
This shrimp will usually be scavenging the sand bed and live rock for meaty bits of food. However, it should also be offered a diet of live, frozen and flaked foods.

If anyone is worried about mixing shrimps in a marine tank, dont be! I’ve got 2 cleaners and a fire shrimp with 2 sexies, they get along fine!
Sexy shrimp are very small, usually growing no larger than 1½”, so they are best kept in tanks smaller than 10gal. In larger tanks, they are difficult to keep track of and can possibly be bullied by crabs, other shrimp, and some fish. They really love tanks in between 2 and 5 gallons.
